Warm-air wood-burning stove
A warm-air stove – also called a convection stove – primarily radiates heat through air circulation.
The heat distribution is approximately 20% radiant heat and 80% convection heat.
The stove has a double-walled construction and openings in the casing. Cold room air is drawn in through these openings, and warmed air is released back into the room – making it a fast room heater.
This principle allows for even heat distribution throughout the room, but it also requires continuous firing, as heat is only released into the room for a short time after the combustion process has finished.
However, this type of stove is less suitable for allergy and asthma sufferers, as the circulating room air can make the air dusty and oxygen-depleted.
