The hypocaust stove is ideal for those with high demands regarding radiant heat and design. This versatile stove also works perfectly with hot water or solar connections.
It offers extensive, pleasant radiant heat because air circulation occurs only within the double-walled, closed body. The resulting heat is stored in the stove’s casing and continuously released as infrared heat for hours via the plastered surface of the chimney, instead of circulating warm air throughout the room. This makes the hypocaust stove particularly suitable for allergy and asthma sufferers.
These storage and radiant stoves can be used almost anywhere, especially in well-insulated buildings, low-energy houses, and rooms with very high ceilings.
It combines the advantages of a warm-air and radiant stove: a large view of the fire, like a fireplace, and radiant heat, like a masonry heater.
Connecting it to the central heating system is highly recommended because the heat storage allows for much higher temperatures inside the stove, and excess energy can be dissipated. Other rooms can also be heated, but then only with warm air.
